This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled Cloud Architect who wants to immerse themselves in modern technology and practices, and who has a lot to offer from their prior experience.

You will take a leading role designing, planning and provisioning cloud architectures with a focus on operational reliability, security compliance and cost impact, while being given the trust and freedom to implement the best solutions as you see them

This is a hands-on development role, where you will be deploying new code daily.

You must be able to understand and empathise with the perspective of the many different people you interact with day-to-day, and balance this against the practical business realities of running a massive service in the Cloud.)

Your Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Work within the Product Team to deliver value to our customers with focus on aspects such as reliability, availability and security
  • Work with customers as required to ensure smooth delivery of the product into their environment
  • Managing Azure provisioning (ARM templates)
  • Evolve existing development processes following best practices
  • Ensuring services are compliant and optimal for intended usage
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies and innovations
  • Working with support to respond to technical issues
Essential skills
  • Either a degree in a computing related discipline and at least 3 years’ experience of cloud architecture; or at least 5 years of cloud architecture experience
  • Experience in lead role responsible for cloud-based infrastructure, networking and network security configuration
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving network security and connectivity issues (preferably for cloud-based solutions)
  • Experience working in a DevOps culture with CI/CD
  • Proven ability in architecting distributed cloud-based solutions
  • Containers and container orchestration (AKS preferred)
  • Knowledge of policy enforcement and cloud governance
  • Scripting: PowerShell and/or Bash
  • The right to work in the UK
Desirable skills:
  • Good knowledge of penetration testing approaches
  • Good knowledge of load testing practices
  • Good understanding of resilience and auto-scaling
  • Experience developing and deploying solutions to the cloud (preferably Microsoft Azure)
  • Linux admin fundamentals
  • Development experience using C# / .NET
  • Experience of working in the FinTech sector
