Six out of 10 UK organisations have no plans in place to prepare for GDPR

Prepare for GDPR

A recent survey, commissioned by GDPR Conference Europe, has revealed that 62% of UK organisations surveyed have no plans in place to prepare for GDPR. The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation comes into force in May 2018, giving organisations 13 months to prepare.

Microsoft commits to GDPR-compliant Cloud by 2018 deadline

Microsoft has committed to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance across all Cloud services when the EU data privacy regulation comes into play on May 25th 2018. However, the organisation also advises that organisations will still need to take action to avoid penalties.

Microsoft announce opening of UK’s first data centres

Microsoft UK data centres

Microsoft has announced it has opened the first data centres in England and Wales- allowing customers’ information to remain in the UK.

The centres, based in London, Cardiff and Durham, mean that Microsoft Azure and Office 365 is now available to Automated Intelligence customers in industries such as government, banking and healthcare who wish to have their data managed in the UK.

The opening of the provider’s first UK cloud computing data centres has been much anticipated since plans were unveiled by Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella at the end of last year.…
