How SharePoint can help with GDPR compliance

Automated Intelligence (AI) has teamed up with the Information and Records Management Society (IRMS) to share best practice and key industry insights on the forthcoming GDPR.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the biggest change in data protection laws in 20 years and will come into force on 25 May 2018.

AI will sponsor the IRMS Public Sector event on 29 September at Westminster Archives in London, detailing how Microsoft SharePoint can help with GDPR compliance.

The event will be hosted by governance expert Melody Allsebrook, who is the co-chair of the SharePoint and Office 365 Group.

Melody Allsebrook said, “By now, most organisations will be thinking about GDPR but with less than 8 months to go, it’s time for action. This workshop will look at helping companies to be GDPR ready and how SharePoint can be maximised, not just for productivity, but as a compliance tool.”

GDPR was designed to harmonise data privacy laws across Europe, to protect all EU citizens’ data privacy.

The next event in the series will take place on 9 October at Junction 24 Bridgwater in Somerset.

The IRMS South West group will discuss preparing for GDPR with topics including the main principles of the regulation and compiling a GDPR readiness toolkit.
