Automated Intelligence (AI) has secured a deal worth over £720,000 to enable a London borough council to transition to the Cloud.

The local authority has selected AI to transition their content management solutions to Cloud-based platforms, Office 365 and Microsoft Azure.

The council plans to archive significant volumes of legacy data to Microsoft Azure to reduce costs and increase discoverability.

AI will also be extending the information governance capability of the platforms as part of the council’s new information strategy.

It will further enable seamless integration between Microsoft Outlook and Office 365 SharePoint Online, so emails and documents can be managed side by side.

Over 3,200 council staff will be using the new collaboration system over the next three years in order to greatly improve productivity and information management. At the same time, the council will benefit from significant cost reductions through cleansing of data.

CEO of AI, Mark Godfrey, said: “The council had a well-defined cloud strategy and wanted to adopt an information sharing and collaboration platform which was cost-effective and efficient, while also being compliant.

“Migrating to the cloud will also deliver agile and flexible working for staff. This is a large I.T. transformation programme with data from many different systems and we know that this transition to the Cloud will enable the council to work in new ways.”
